Europe is the real land of the free

Playing European Roulette, not American Roulette will give you better odds of winning in roulette. This is simply because the European wheel only has one zero, in comparison with the double zero on the American Wheels.

That makes the American Roulette odds slightly worse as there are two occasions in which you could walk away with nothing.

As you can see, your chances of walking out a winner in European Roulette is almost twice as high as that of it’s American counterpart.

There is no such thing as a Roulette system

Roulette betting systems don’t work. If they did, Vegas would have remained the dream of a madman.

You cannot eliminate the house advantage and the mobile casino will win in the long run. You can look at figuring out how to win in roulette online based on the odds and place your bets carefully, figuring out what number is more likely to hit, but don’t ever expect to walk out a winner every time.

We will be the first to admit that we don’t always play by this rule. From time to time you win enough to make it interesting just to keep playing the game.

But ultimately, if you’ve got your budget, and that’s the money you’ve decided to spend, anything on top should be a bonus. Cash it in, take it home, come back later with it and play if its only a little over your budget.

High or low variance, betting strategy

People think that if they play ‘safe bets’ (red/black, even/odd) they can beat the system. However, when playing Roulette games, you cannot influence the expected value of the game. Where you bet on a single number or a safe bet, your expected profit/loss is the same.

However the variance of the bet varies dramatically depending on which bet you choose. Variance is basically another word for ‘risk’. High risk or high variance bets, such as betting on a single number, is riskier as the odds are higher, but when you win, you win significant amounts.

Low variance or safe bets, generally considered to be the outside bets, you will wins lots of the time, but your chip stack will not see a high increase or decrease.

How can you use this to your advantage? Simple. Tied closely on keeping an eye out on your budget, you can start with high variance bets, and if lady luck is sitting at a table elsewhere, switch to low variance bets, or a mix of the two, to minimise your loses.

Equally, if you are playing online in a Roulette Tournament, and time is running out and you are not getting the points you need, a high variance strategy might be the only way to try your luck at that grand prize.
