Casumo Casino Adds Novomatic Games. Now Things Get Interesting.
December 13th, 2014You may or may not know anything much about Casumo casino or Novomatic games. We are here to rectify that as they start to make things interesting in the mobile casino world.
Considering that Casumo mobile casino started it’s life as a NetEnt casino, they’ve had a pretty amazing 2014. First they added Thunderkick games online, which moved them up a notch with players.
Now they add Novomatic games to their portfolio via Greentube (the company that owns the games).
They are the first scandinavian casino to do so, and one of the few european mobile casinos to have this selection of casino slots.
Here’s why things get interesting, and why you might want to re-consider this quirky casino if you haven’t already.

What it means for you & Casumo
Now, when they just had NetEnt slots and games, they were a fun place to go, but a little limiting.
Then they added Thunderkick, which had some unique ideas, but not very hard hitting jackpot games. They also have no mobile phone casino games, so it made little to no difference to our on-the-go experience.
The point is, that between NetEnt and Thunderkick, there was a couple of choices for mobile slots with some big wins, but it’s mostly fairly low variance stuff.
You know the type of slot game. Lots of flashes, lots of lights, lots of little wins, till you get a mid-size win and start celebrating.
All razzle dazzle, beautiful graphics but lacking the kind of heart stopping wins that change lives.
And then there was Novomatic casino games
Which is the exact opposite of Novomatic games.
So let’s get things started. 90% of these babies will be slot machines. That’s because this software provider originally created games for brick and mortar casinos all over Europe.
In fact you’ll recognise most of the games if you’re the type to head to your local house of cards from time to time.
And what these machines have in common is that they are mostly fairly high variance. That mean big wins and big jackpots.
Don’t believe us? Book of Ra Deluxe has a huge potential win, which we’ve calculated as 16,000x your bet.
“Book of Ra deluxe is a real classic, you might know it from land based casinos around Europe. Now it’s live at Casumo.com and you can try your luck with wild & paying scatters, re-triggers and expanding symbols.” Marius, professional gambler and long-term player at Casumo.
Let’s call it an old favourite with many shall we?
What they are not, is particularly pretty
If you head to a NetEnt mobile casino, you expect big sounds, stunning graphics and crazy animations.
When you open a Novomatic casino on the other hand, you get fairly generic sounds, ok graphics and some animations.
If none of this appeals to you, then that’s because you are not particularly far sighted. Pretty is nice, but 16,000x your bet without needing a progressive jackpot is nicer.
So you do have a certain pay off here. But what they lack in prettiness, they usually make up in unusual and fun features.
They are definitely a required taste for gamblers who like their slot machines to look like they’ve come straight out of their local casino.
Why it makes things interesting?
Well other than the fact that you now have three game software providers when before they only had one.
The reason we added Casumo to our list of mobile and tablet casinos wasn’t because they had a larger number of games or currencies (they only have Euros at the moment).
Casumo Keypoints
- Clean, smart design
- Choice of welcome bonuses
- Unique, adventure like loyalty program
But because they had a very unusual way of doing things. With them, it’s always a little bit of an adventure, as you progress through worlds they have created, playing and doing tasks.
It’s basically a very clever and very 21st century loyalty program.
And in a world where every casino is starting to look and feel the same, they just bring something different to the table.
That said, they had obvious flaws. The lack of mobile games for one, the lack of currencies for another.
Starting to move out of Sweden
They came out of Sweden in 2012, they then moved to Norway, Finland and Germany.
Now, at the end of 2014 it looks like they are aggressively starting to look at the rest of Europe.
They have even successfully applied for a UK licence, in a bid to stay in that market and move into it more aggressively. Will Australia and Canada be next?
Now, they are probably even more unique than the rest, having added a strange mix of games, that as far as we know, no other mobile casino can boast to have.
It means that 2015 will certainly be an interesting year for Casumo.
What can we play?
They have begun by adding the Book of Ra Deluxe, of course, and the equally brilliant Lord of the Ocean.
Naturally, the release will be slow, over the coming weeks, two or three games at a time, giving players a chance to experience these new games.
How the current clientele at the casino, who are more use to 3D graphics and flashy features, will react, is something we wish we could witness.
No doubt Lucky Ladies Charm and Reel King will follow, with perhaps Hoff Mania (based around, you guessed it, David Hasselhoff) making an appearance within the first month.
In total Greentube Novomatic will be able to give Casumo 25 new mobile slot games to add to their Android & iOS casino.
A number not far off from NetEnt’s 29 slots. Though the table games will still be dominated by NetEntertainment.
So suddenly, just with that one addition, Casumo becomes a casino with over 60 games to play on your mobile.
See? We told you things were getting interesting.
