How to play Jacks or Better Play’n Go
Ok, first of all, be careful where you play this video poker machine; some online and mobile casinos have the old version of this game where the bet level is set from 0.25 to 1.25. However, Vera&John has the 4 hand version of this game, which improves it slightly but…
We are not going to kid anyone else reading this. Just… go play elsewhere. Playtech’s Jacks or Better, or Microgaming’s or IGTs. Because, ultimately, this machine has a significantly lower return to player rate than any of the other Jacks or Better video poker machines that you can find on your mobile today.
To give it a little credit, this game does play nice on all devices we tested on – from Android to iPhone to Windows phones. It simply works. It’s also easy to change your bet level, the simple design works nicely on mobile phone screens and it offers you a chance to double your winning with a gamble feature.
But then, so do many of the other Jacks or Better mobile video poker machines we’ve reviewed, but they have the advantage of paying out better when using the right poker strategy.
This handheld Jacks or Better game is here for beginners who can’t read a paytable. Offering so little in comparison to the other mobile video poker games out there, we wonder if Play’n Go just decided to add this game to their portfolio as an ‘oh yeah, we better do video poker for mobile’ without first researching the competition and other machines that exist out there.
That said, the max win on this game is considerably higher than most other Jacks or Better games because you get 4 chances at that Royal Flush. Still, this machine is more gambling than a game of skill.

Conclusion
Yes it works, yes it looks nice, but don’t let this Play’n Go video poker machine fool you. You have much better choice out there and picking this one over others would be a waste of your money.
If you find the four hand machine it does give it a certain edge over other games as there are so few multihand video poker games for mobile. It’s fun to play multihand after all. However, why lower your chances just for the pleasure of playing a couple of extra hands? Because you want that max win of four royal flushes? Ok buddy. That’s your choice, and the reason this gets two stars rather than just the one dreadful lonely paw.
If you find the single hand version of this game… just run. Walk away.
